Unite for a cause

Its terror everywhere
people running helter skelter
to save their lives
and hide somewhere

I wonder what runs,
in the minds of those
who take the lives ,
of many like us

All the bloodshed
and the ghory scenes
dont seem to detter
the people responsible for these

Can a Buddha or a Gandhibe born again?
to show the right pathto those who seek
Will these ghastly activities ever halt someday?
Will people ever realise that the only cast is humanity.

Its terror everywhere
humans scared of each other
roots of society shaking
instead of being together...

These tremors should cease
People should unite for a cause
Fight against thy responsible for these
Make our country a heaven of properity and peace

Death

Death is so scary,
though we are aware of it
the thought makes us so weary,
more because it creeps so silently.

We keep living all our lives
fretting and fuming over petty things,
and finally realise that
all this was for nothing worthy.

When we realise people we know
will no longer be with us any more
when we realise that life we value so much
is lost in seconds, everything seems so gloomy.

When we realise that like the tree,
shedding its old leaf
people sometimes just cease to live,
leaving everyone in grief.

Its so depressing to know the facts
and still keep living
As if hoping for something
that will change the ultimate ending.

Eat,Pray,Love

I always wanted to read this book, not because I read reviews about it, but because I saw this book in almost everyone's hands in the path train while travelling to my office.
This was more of a curiosity factor. Finally I got this book in one of those expensive stores on the Newark airport.
Elizabeth takes you through a spiritual journey without the readers knowledge. The most interesting and fascinating fact is the description of the places which all start with the letter "I". Reading how Liz discovers herself we actually discover ourselves. I donot know if I will ever find a book like this to read again, this was the feeling at the end of last line of the book.
The book covers all aspects of human nature anger, sorrow, joy, love, devotion, family and work.

Celebrate Life

When you wake up in the morning
Give yourself a smile
For, you deserve it
this act of gratitude, all the while

When you see a child
Give him a smile
For, he is such a wonderful creation
He does it every once a while

When you look at the trees
Give them a smile
For, it is these that give you the breeze
So soft and pure flowing through life

When it rains
Feel the drops and give a smile
For, He has created
these drops so pure and fresh

When you breathe air
Feel the happiness and thank god
For, He gave you this life
To care and share

Feel His presence everywhere
and within yourself
For, you spare yourself the effort
To search for something that is in thyself

Celebrate life everyday
Celebrate life every moment
For, moments make days
as drops make oceans
Celebrate life, celebrate yourself

Do I live or exist?

Do I live or exist?
When you wake up by the sound of trucks
when you rush to office among the smoke clouds
when you race to reach a place
just to start another race
You ask yourself "do i live or exist?"

when every second is counted
every breath you take is accounted
when the world is so micromanaged
the scene is over even before it is staged
you ask yourself "do i live or exist?"

when you dont find a moment to stand and stare
even at the mirror that gives you a glare
when you feel you are just another hare
among the racing hares
you ask yourself "do I live or exist?"

some day you will realise
when you have played all your dice
in preperation to find that peace
but were never close to this
then you ask yourself "did I live or exist?"

Excerpts from Intuition is the best guide

We usually have a purpose for the life we have selected. Such purpose is general, such as teaching, healing, inspiring, creating, and so forth. Our life purpose attracts to us other spirits who want to share that purpose but do not necessarily desire to do so in a physical body. We then select a group of souls to help us along the way. Often we make our choices based on the fact that we know these spirits already from other physical lifetimes on earth (or elsewhere). We trust these beings and they trust us. Sometimes we include souls who have a particular expertise that we believe will be especially helpful to us or because we just want to try something new while on earth.

Dont Quit

This is something I read whenever I feel the need to get motivated from my childhood days...
I vaguely remember getting this poem on a piece of paper as a compliment from a book store, then I stuck the same on one of the wardrobes , and would read it whenevr feeling the need for it....

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Understanding COM Interop

.NET is a great platform for developing applications and many pieces of code that took lots of effort to write, is now made much simpler. As much as all of us would like to adopt .NET immediately, many organizations cannot. Lots of investment has been made developing applications using technologies like COM and these code bases cannot be junked overnight. Also, .NET may not be suitable for all types of projects. There are still some applications that are best left to low-level languages.

Given this need for organizations to preserve existing code, one of the important goals of .NET during its development was to promote interoperability with existing technologies. .NET interoperability comes into three flavors:
Interoperability of .NET code with COM components (called as COM interop)
Interoperability of COM components with .NET (called .NET interop)
Interoperability of .NET code with Win32 DLLs (called P/Invoke)
Each of these models have different requirements and best practices and this article we will discuss about COM interop. More specifically, we will see how to write a COM component and then invoke it from .NET. We will also see some best practices for developing well behaved COM interop solutions.
One important thing to understand is that components written in .NET are managed whereas components written using COM are unmanaged. Therefore, the first challenge to overcome is, to bridge these two models. Each model has its own way of memory allocation, object lifetime management and parameter passing convention that to bridge these two models require the usage of an intermediary that handles all these differences. Having an intermediary is important because we do not want applications writing this code for each application that wants to interop with COM components. The .NET developers were aware of this and thus gave an intermediary called as the Runtime Callable Wrapper (RCW).....

NewJersey and NewYork

Oh sun comes so early in New Jersey, its just 5:30am.....can anyone plz block the sun from peeping through my window is what I wish , and finally after the sun has tried long enough, I wake up at 7;make some tea(the red label tea I got from Indian store) with the milk in the can thats a week old, no boiling required for this one;thats the best part of some of these foods here, no human intervention is required except for eating. Then, I rush to get ready and reach the path station by 9, to see an approaching train to WTC.....though not very crowded but most of the times no vacant seat available, so stand in the train sometimes looking at people and their expression deprived faces and sometimes glancing out of the train for the approaching station, I wonder how these people manage to put such blank faces. Indians are known for their intelligence and adaptability, most of the Indians mock or rather adapt to the place by listening to music on their ipods or pretending to read some book... I noticed that they dont even turn a leaf of their book.oops thats my station, exchange place, rest continued.....

London Is the Best City in America

Well, I finally got my hands on Laura Dave’s book London Is the Best City in America.
It took some time before I came to the page which gives the book its name.
I had decided to complete this book during my stay in New Jersey and did it pretty soon and was ready to take up another one of its kind....
Laura has presented all the angles of a relationship especially of a person whom you want to spend a lifetime with.....
She explores the choices an individual makes for his/her life. The entire book seems to revolve around Josh's marriage, but it beautifully takes the reader through Emmy's life and the way she relates her problems with Josh's phase of life is amazing....
Surprisingly I found this book in Fiction category in the store;I feel the book narrates a very practical approach to life.
I say its a must read....

Visit to Monica's place

Told my lead in office that I need to leave early by 3:30.Boarded the train to JSQ at 4 to pack my bag and catch the 6:20 flight to Charlotte.
Managed to reach the airport by 6 after changing 2 trains ,on the way saying to myself how much I enjoyed this freedom of travelling with just one carryon bag as the only responsibility.
There I was at 12:20 at the Louisville airport walking with the cabbin bag, a tall young man waved at me, Iwasnt sure if he was waving at me or someone else because I didnt recognise him , I just smiled and as I walked closer realised it was Srinivas jiju, then saw Monica , Gautam and Anirudh.
Gautam has grown so tall with his big round eyes, curly hair his face didnt change much from his infancy, but yes now he is in his teens. Anirudh said "hello maushi", I guess the only marathi word he speaks. He instantly reminded me of Sachit with almost the same height, striaght hair and oval face, first talking with his eyes and after some time not giving a chance to anyone to talk.Monica asked jiju if he riruemembers me, I said he does but my memory wasnt strong enough to wave back. On the way home Anirudh was continuously talking about the mall thats open 24/7 , about the increasing fuel prices etc, and when I laughed over some talk, he said "its not funny", that made me burst into a louder laugh....he managed to keep his cool.
Once we reached their place me and Monica were busy talking about every other thing like how different is USA from India, how diff. is KY from NJ . It was 2 am, as Anirudh came from his room and called out "amma, nenu raana kinda", then we dismissed our session to put Anirudh to sleep.
The next day jiju took us to the malls and showed me the city, onthe way back we had very gud
Indian food at Bombay Grill.Sunday morning ,and still some of our shopping was pending, me and Monica went to Kohl's after b'fast and returned just 1 hr before the flight timing; we had our lunch , stuffed ethg in the bags and jiju drove us to the airport, this time driving at his best speed so that I dont miss my 3:34 flight. Reached the airport at 3:30 to see a , long queue for check-in baggage, me and Monica just looked at each other and started removing the cans and pastes from my bag, in a jiffy I was ready with 2 bags and a purse and Gautam was showing me the way to the security checks--without much bye shye I stood in the security queue, meanwhile jiju came there and suggested that I request the ppl. infront to let me by-pass them . I asked the guy before me , the other handsome in front of him, the old lady in front so on and finally reached just 2ppl. in front of me, I asked the officer can u plz make it fast--in this country you never know what words offend ppl. he said "did u say make it fast? and asked me to join the queue again"....anyways just 2 guys in front and I got the security check done, without even tying my shoe laces well I started to run for G14 gate, crossing all those standing escalators and the long corridors finally reached the gate and gave my boarding pass to the officer, he gave me such a serious look, I will never forget, but still allowed me in the flight.I have boarded running buses, running trains but running/flying flights , this was the first time, such a wonderful experience to burn calories in an attempt not to miss the flight. All those 15-20 mins when I was running and getting things done the only thoughts that came to my mind were what best I can do not to miss this flight..Sat down in the flight and called up to tell Monica and jiju that "I made it finally"...
